I really enjoyed the game's narrative, especially the writing part. Could you guys suggest me some books that are similar to this?

Good old Dracula is made out of journal notes and letters. H. P. Lovecraft also pops up. But if you're looking for more obscure stuff, why not ask the awsome staff at your local library. ;D

You might try House of Leaves, which has a journal format, with unreliable / conflicting narrators. It has some of the same mystery as the writing in Dear Esther (and it's also criticized for some of the same reasons)

You can never overemphasize the works of H.P. Lovecraft, a real genius.
Although it might not fit a hundred percent into the same category as Dear Esther. |
