So the guy who started the last thread (DollerDollah) got banned for some reason and now there's no way the original post there can be edited to keep the list updated. I've decided to continue his and JMacGill's work by starting a new thread.

You can add to that last list the Bioshock series (Venezuela). I bought it from here 4 years ago and now both 1 and 2 are unavailable.

Sometimes it has to do with legal or commercial reasons not on steams end.

For instance, Toejam and Earl was shortly a part of the SEGA Genesis collection here on steam before being removed for an extended period of time following licensing issues. Once the issues were resolved they were added back on to steam.

And Winter Voices was removed from steam after the company went under. A bankrupt company won't always result in a game being pulled from steam (see Kingdoms of Amalur), but in this case it did. In the case of Winter Voices it will likely come back to steam once the developers get their ducks in a row.

What it ultimately comes down to is that there's no one reason a game is removed from steam, but a variety of reasons that may or may not ever be known to use consumers. And that it's usually in Valve's best interest to keep games on their store if possible.
