Can I go Nightmare from start?

I beat the game on normal on Xbox and the episodes+AN on PC.

now I want to replay AW on PC on Nightmare. anyone knows how can I unlock it from the get-go and will I be able to find all the manuscript pages for the true ending?

you can, i just read that starting the game with something like "-developer" will enable to run in nightmare mode without ending the game.

update:

CHEATS
Use -developermenu parameter if you really want to cheat, or play in Nightmare difficulty without playing the game through once.

Should be worth noting you do it by right clicking on Alan Wake (in the Steam Games menu), clicking on "Properties", "Set launch options..." and typing "-developer" or "-developermenu"

(Just in case you don't know).

Yes, there are some manuscript pages that you can only find on Nightmare. Roughly 10-15, if I remember correctly.

I didn't, though it makes sense in hindsight.

I used developer menu to unlock nightmare on my first play through and have earned plenty of achievements. Not sure if there are limitations there.

Adds enjoyment to the game and a sense of progress or a goal to work towards. It's like being rewarded in a way.

gameplay is my reward.

well, there are SOME nice achievements, particularly in Metro 2033 where you have to sneak past a whole station without killoing anyone or being noticed, which is a challenge.

but stuff like getting an achievement just for passing a moment in a game is meh...

well, to each his own
