sniper elite performance problems with zoom
i was playing the game all good with 80-60 fps while i was zooming in game with this machine:
Motherboard:Z68A-D3H-B3 CPU:Intel Core-i5 2400 3.1GHZ Ram:HYPER-X KINGSTON 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ GPU:MSI TWINFROZR II GTX 560Ti 1GB HDD:Seagate 1TB SATA III Power Supply:Thermaltake 750 W since latest patch i had some issues with the zooming.no matter when or where i zoomed far or close zoom i was getting 38-40 fps even while i was inside a house and zooming on the walls. now in 3rd person and other things im still getting my original fps about 80 fps average.heres also my graphics settings: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7...246?tab=public http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7...73/?tab=public thats my settings i never changed anything since the latest patch but yes there seems to be performance issues |

disable compute shaders and super sample. these must be for new 7970 & gt 680/690. you have a good pc so keep ambient oclusion on, its a good feature.

i have super sample to off if you look carefully in the 2nd link as for compute shaders i had them before to on so i dont think thats the problem.they may have updated the depth of field slightly for it but thats no reason to fall 20 fps lower than before every time i zoom.its just sounds ridiculous. before the latest patch with the settings i have:80 fps in 3rd person and 55-60 fps while zooming. after the latest patch:still in 3rd person 80 fps but while zooming i go instantly to 40 fps no matter where i zoom.doesnt matter if i zoom closer or farther away its just there stuck to 40 fps.no lower or higher. ok i removed compute shaders although i dont see a difference in graphics but yes i run better this time about 65-60 fps in zoom plus i raised up advanced shadows to high and all ok.
but 1 thing i will never understand is what they did and compute shaders are so heavy?i was using them before but no such problem. |

dude i checked ur screens, i i had the same problem. im worse because i have a low profile graphics card. disabling that, gave me constant fps.
the main problem with lowering fps during zooming is due to the pc has to render a lot of detail from much more distance with tesselation, flying objects, fire, shadows, lights.... ambient occlusion push the pc too, but it is very good and must be on on good pcs. check my bench: Average FPS: 37.4 Minimum FPS: 8.5 Maximum FPS: 63.0 System RAM: 4095MB CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 830 Processor Number of Cores: 4 GPU Name: AMD Radeon HD 6670 Feature Level: DX11.0 Dedicated VRAM: 1012MB Resolution Width: 1920 Resolution Height: 1080 Texture Detail: ULTRA Shadows Detail: HIGH Draw Distance: HIGH Anti-aliasing: MEDIUM Advanced Shadows: HIGH Supersampling: OFF Anisotropic Level: 16 Compute Shaders: OFF Ambient Occlusion: OFF Motion Blur: ON Vertical Sync: ON |

you have too many settings on for your pc.il tell you what settings you need to lower to run optimally with still great graphics. Resolution Width: 1920 Resolution Height: 1080 Texture Detail: HIGH Shadows Detail: HIGH Draw Distance: HIGH Anti-aliasing: HIGH Advanced Shadows: OFF(THIS MUST BE OFF TO CARDS ESPECIALLY LIKE YOURS.RECOMMENDED) Supersampling: OFF Anisotropic Level: 16 Compute Shaders: OFF Ambient Occlusion: OFF Motion Blur: ON Vertical Sync: OFF(runs a lot smoother and you can feel the sensitivity of the mouse sliding with no probs.having this to on just delays some camera movements with the mouse and makes it more difficult to strafe the camera.becomes somehow more heavy and the mouse with the camera doesnt respond flawlessly) and i must say you have a very nice pc too.just if only you could had a little better card but still its very nice. thanks my glorious dude.
the game runs very well. the fps only drops when: 1: the hi-textured walls are real-time illuminated by some lamp/fire; 2:the cutscenes. i dont know why, but sometimes the frames fall too much. i just finished the game, the sniping combat is very good, but normal fighting is average. i lack some sniping during rain. Resolution Height - 1080 Texture detail - ultra Shadow Detail - low The degree of smoothing - high The draw distance - ultra Anisotropic filtering - 16 Supersampling - off Improved shadows - off Blur image - off Darkening of the medium - off Computational Shaders - on Strengthen the responsiveness of the mouse - on V-SYNC - on Multiplayer Options You'll get a better view of the enemy in the dark places ... and your FPS will increase. same here, since the patch, when zooming with snipe scope goes from about 40 fps, to 10 fps, not good...
