Question Problem with recording gameplay

This is my computer:
-Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
-Memory: 6144MB RAM
-DirectX Version: DirectX 11
-Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (it's 7850)
-Display Memory: 742 MB
Dedicated Memory: 2027 MB
Shared Memory: 2811 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor Name: AOC 2236

Everything is working fine until I try to record some gameplay (tryed a lot of diffent games),using MSI Afterburner. Does recording videos need better processor or where is the problem?
When I record any game fps drops hard and gameplay look very lagy.

What software do you use to record? what games have you tried?

I use fraps its the best for game recording make sure to record at locked 30fps thats what youtube plays videos at so no need to go higher than that. But that i3 should be more than capable depending on the game...

Did you go into Afterburner's settings and setup the options for Video Capture?

For your system, you will definitely want to select some level of compression. Uncompressed isn't really a viable option for your system specs. As for the video capture's FPS, you will want between 24 and 30 for that. Whatever the video capture is set to for FPS, this FPS will be taken away from your viewing during actual gameplay. While the stutter might not be reflected in your actual video recording, it may make playing your game a little harder if your system can't keep up. You will want to disable any game or GPU software-based VSync settings as well, so your system can better handle allowing the game a certain FPS, while allowing the video capture software to take what it needs at the same time.

It really helps to have video capture software record it's videos to a different drive so it doesn't bog down the machine as much.

Overall performance can also be helped by faster performing HDDs, or use of an SSD.
