Hi I want to know if the change of weapon camos is authorized or not, it's not a hack but texture camouflage personalized weapon with my username above to add the weapon, or so to get the desert eagle in GOLD !
I say that yours was there that I can get to see her and not bring me something more and not make me more powerful than another player
Plz answer ...

What is VAC?

If a user connects to a VAC-Secured server from a computer with identifiable cheats installed, the VAC system will ban the user from playing on VAC-Secured servers in the future.

While server admins may choose to ban specific players, server admins cannot VAC ban players. The VAC system is automated - contacting Steam Support to report cheaters is not necessary, nor will Steam Support act on any information provided.

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

The following will not trigger a VAC ban:
Using chat programs like X-Fire
System hardware configurations
Updated system drivers, such as video card drivers

Use only trusted machines to play on VAC-Secured servers - if you are not sure whether or not the machine you are using to connect to Steam may have cheats installed, do not play on VAC-Secured servers.

Use caution when installing any game modifications, such as scripts or custom skins. Only download custom content from trusted sources. Hackers sometimes maliciously disguise their cheats to cause others to get banned.

Nowhere does it suggest that any game is exempt from these rules, therefore modifying skins in the iwd files is fine.

Using downloaded installers rather is more risky than downloading modified iwd files which is more risky than modify the files yourself.

But downloaded files you use at your own risk.

One would hope there would be a warning if they decided to make modifying iwd files bannable.

I have some doubts about that there really is a "custom skin" which would let you have your username on it.
And additionally, the golden pistol..... isnt it an achievement for solving specific tasks?

If "someone" told you about it, stay away from it.
If its from "a site", stay away from it.
If its from a reputated source, think twice if you need it.
NEVER use exe or dll files. Dont "literally install" custom things. This would be a sign that something is definitely wrong.

Its better to play with normal things, or regular custom things, than to have to have worries, or to do "mistakes".

its plain and simple. Stay away from it. Not having a gold desert eagle is lot better than any kind of ban.

You shouldn't do that.
Howerver, if you change .iwi files in .iwd archives, there will be no VAC-ban. But I think, it's illegal to do so.

The alarming bell should ring when you have to
"install" something.
Or if you replace exe or dll files.

Doesnt it say, "install" in the description?
Isnt it stored on a masshoster?
Why isnt it on a reputated source?

Personally, i would not use it.

A good mod would find its way into a reputated source.
Shady things find their way in youtube videos and sharehosters.

Get over it. Or try to find it on a reputated source.

Btw, cod is not a good game for modding. Because of the policy. You can get in trouble without actually cheating.

Gold pistol was only an ingame item in cod4. There is no camo for secondaries in any call of duty since.
