What I miss in Dear Esther
Hi
In short, for a better experience I would like to have: - ability to sit/lie down - ability to manipulate objects (grab/throw/overturn), pluck foliage - some rain/snow/heavy winds I've just completed DE and I am still wondering what I do think about it. |

I like to think that the lack of control is part of the message, specifically, the twists and turns of life (death, loss, etc) that are out of our hands.

Ya I was thinking when the gust of winds blew past near the cliff edges that the camera wobbling a bit would have been a nice realistic touch.
Dunno about lack of controls being a message but more of way of keeping you in charactor and avoiding you degenerating into throwing stuff /jumping around like a lunatic etc. |

I guess the point against item handling was to underline ethereal substance of the protagonist.
However in the spirit of Jacob's Ladder some interaction could be allowable. Still, sitting, laying down and weather would be nice touches. |
