Sims 3 Supernatural

ANyone knows when it will be available on steam for pre-order? some websites are already doing it so why not steam? I got all my sims expansion packs and original game on steam so wanted to buy this one too. It's not long now before release so why are we not able to pre-order it?

If you have looked, you would notice Diesel and Sweet Treats are not released on Steam either, so it's safe to assume EA and Valve are fighting again and it's not getting released on Steam.

Owh and SW:TOR is going F2P. knew the game wouldn't last longer than a year.

You can add any Sims 3 key 3 to Origin by using this link https://activate.ea.com/ and adding product codes manually (For Steam right click the game in your Steam library and click 'View Game CD Key'). You could then purchase your copy of Supernatural (and any other stuff pack/expansion pack) and add it to Origin too.

Pity they're not releasing Sims 3 content on Steam anymore would rather have it here.

No. If you get the expansion somewhere else it will not work with the Steam version of Sims 3. You will have to go through Origin, which is probably all part of EA's evil master plan.

Redeeming your code

We're sorry. This code can not be exchanged here. You can redeem your code: https://www.thesims3.com/registeragame.html . Visit FAQ
Enter your product code below to activate your game or your game content. Once activated, you can access your content from any computer running the client Origin.

Registering on thesims3.com automaticly adds the game/expansion pack to Origin for download, and most of the EP's give you bonuses for registering too.

Most EA Steam keys can be activated on Origin, Sims3 dosnt like activating directly on Origin. Guess they want players using thesims3.com. Their game, their choice I suppose.

I contacted EA Support some time last month, and they told me that Supernatural was going to be available on Steam. They didn't say when, though. My assumption is that they aren't going to allow preorders, and we might even have to wait a little while - that or they were lying to me :P

That's good to hear, but where are the 2 previous packs then? (Katy Perry stuff + Diesel)

Don't both of them say "Exclusive to Origin" in Origin?

No, you can buy them in quite a few places and boxed retail copies. Doesn't make it very exclusive.

So does the Showtime Katy Perry CE, but it's on Steam regardless. It just doesn't make sense.

Get use to this with regards to Sims 3. 'Limited edition' and 'Exclusive whatever' are just buzzwords to spur buyers to spend early. Fact of the matter is neither has ever proven true in the titles history.

Limited edition items are usually released later for free to everyone anyways (pets pet store) or is the 'normal' purchase.

Exclusive items/to a paticular place generally means 'for now'. LAter on items will be sold in the store and everywhere else will get the content in question down the road.

I would expect SN to appear this evening (UK) and the download to go live around midnight as usual.

Basically, for the last few EPs, there has been a wall of silence and then the EP comes out on time (certainly in the UK).

Basically, I think EA don't want new people to come into the franchise via Steam.

I don't think there are, or will be, any plans to abandon Steam users. Not without an official announcement. EA have developer access to these forums and the store page.

Katy Perry's Sweet Treats and the Diesel SP are not on Steam because I think they are technically licensed products that Steam frown upon, but I would expect EP's to continue. I would expect that normal Stuff Packs (ie not branded/licensed ones) will continue on Steam.

The wall of silence is annoying, but I think it is just because they want to migrate people to Origin - not abandon Steam altogether.
