Something WEIRD in HL...
While I was playing Half-Life today, I've noticed something awkward:
On the walls, inside one of the levels in the game, there is a text ("R-8145", I think) with VALVe's logo above it, which repeats again and again all over the walls (screenshot). The VALVe logo itself is a known easter egg, but I wonder what is the meaning of the text. I've tried to find an explanation on the web, but I couldn't find anything about it. any ideas about WTF "R-8145" means? |

It's just the easter egg of having a drywall texture, I don't think there's any significance to the number itself.

This game is 14 years old. Don't you think there would be information on that number by now? It's merely an easter egg.
Keep in mind that in this day and age, if there WAS something to it, the Steam forums would have it solved in about half an hour. Anything "new" regarding Half Life would be torn apart by the masses in moments. It's not new, it's been there forever, and it's merely the drywall. |

It looks more like a "B" than an "8."
Not that it makes it anymore significant, just saying. |

half life games had major easter eggs, when playing opposing force type penguins into the console and you already have a good example.

I've also found some-what of the same numbers in HL2 on the Borealis door.mdl.

Old games can get recent updates.
