Unhappy Repeating Error. Game unplayable.

Hi, I was playing through Hard Rain and on the second map, when I got into the sugar mill, my game disconnected me and took me back to the main menu. I tried to play The Parish and it also disconnected me on the second map. The exact error I got was this:
Disconnected
Server is enforcing consistency for this file:
models/infected/spitter.mdl
But sometimes it will have a different file there such as: models/infected/hulk.mdl

It does this every time I try to play. If it is any help, I just started getting this error after I downloaded and installed the Deathcraft II campaign. Which is the Minecraft in L4D one. Yes I have Add-on support.

Is this happening to anybody else? Anybody know how to fix it?

It sounds like your addon campaign changed some files that weren't supposed to be changed. Run the 'verify integrity of game cache' through steam. It'll fix it for you.

I'll try that and post how it goes.

Okay it finished verifying and said: 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. And then it downloaded something that was 7.3 MB. Do I need to verify again before I test it? Or can I just try it now?

I'd remove the custom campaign from the folder. As for your question, you're just going to have to use the ole trial and error method. All the verify cache' thing does is force Steam to check your files against it's own files and replaces any files that don't match up.

Steam doesn't fix any mods or addons; so that custom campaign may mess up the files again.

You shouldn't have to actually remove the add-on. Just uncheck it in the game and it won't load unless you check it again when you wish to play it.
