Can't download more than one game at a time

I've just got a new rig, about to go out for the night, want to stick some of my games on download for when I get back.

One game downloads fine, then when I start the next one, the previous one gets "suspended". If I resume the suspended download, it just makes the other one suspend too.

I can't find any option to make it so I can download games simultaneously, and I've never had this problem before, anybody know what gives or how to download more than one game at a time?

Downloading at 1.5Mb/s so doubt it's my connection.

Thanks for any input.

This started happening to me too recently. Not really sure there is anything you can do about it.

If you think about it, as long as your full bandwidth is used, the amount of time required to download 2 games doesn't depend on whether you download them simultaneously or sequentially.

I had that happen the other day when I was converting games to the new content format. Some had not been updated, but I had to do them one at a time cuz the download would keep going to "suspended" if I tried to install a new game, and it would stay in that state until I paused the one I just started.

Multiple downloads used to work fine, which is quite puzzling.

Perhaps, but I had to waste a ton of time sitting and waiting for each one to complete instead of just starting them and letting them run.

Yes, except it isn't always maxing my bandwidth. So having another download thread would be useful.

Like said I'm going out for the night, then sleeping. Was hoping I could just stick my games on download so they'd be done when I get back.

Plus this has never happened before.

Sounds like a new thing then, which kinda sucks.

Just start em all and let it go. Not much else you can do. The suspended ones start downloading after another download finishes.

Oh, my... Once one finished, the other one will start automatically. Just let it be suspended, and leave it.

The new content system (which is what does the one-game-at-a-time trick) already opens as many download connections to different content servers as it can. It only stops when it detects that the newest isn't as effective at increasing your download rate i.e. your connection is saturated.

Dunno if it's just me, but I can sometimes get 8MB/s downloads and I've seen a few downloads get suspended and the ones that remain enabled go all out. The resumed ones continue if the main ones slow down. Maybe I imagined it. If not, then they programmed it that way.

Or you could get google gigabit fiber not that your rig can use all that bandwidth ..
