Travis has been posting weekly blog updates on their progress. They still use the "when it's done" mantra most of the time. You can find his blogs here: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewfor...ba6dcdba4db503

They are usually titled "Not a Blog Redux." The most recent is from August 3rd, so we should be expecting another one soon is my guess. He usually goes through everything they are working on and have fixed. It sounds like they are 100% done with Act 1, almost 100% done with polishing Act 2, and just have to polish Act 3 and 4. My GUESS based on reading his blog posts consistently, and seeing their pace, is that it will be in our hands either before September or in very early September. But that's just a guess.

I'd keep checking out the link I sent you for when Travis's updates come in.

Don't hold your breath on them making 'Summer 2012' unless they squeeze it in on the 20th or so of September.

TL2 release will be good, but not as good as it could have been.

Late August=Guild Wars 2
Early/Mid September=Borderlands 2

thats just the 2 games I'm waiting on (outside TL2) and there are many others that players here are waiting on as well.
I'm glad they are taking their time polishing up the game, as long as it releases… i'l be happy.
Between the games I mentioned above, and anything else I decide to pick up.. (darksiders 2 is a thought) I may not get much time to actually play TL2 for a bit. Then again.. I never wanted to put in 8 million hours in TL1 either.. I just couldn't stop playing

Considering that would be 913 years, I'm assuming hyperbole :P

the only good time was june or maybe july, and it doesn't matter that much, some people talk like you can only buy the game in the first month its released. guild wares might make some people skip T2 but borderlands is a completely different genre and will only take a few sells. it doesn't matter anyway cause torchlight is a game that can be played for a very long time, borderlands is most likely going to be a 1 time play through

You do know that Torchlight and Borderlands are similar genres correct?Borderlands is a FPS that you collect weapons and upgrade abilities and Torchlight is an isometric view game where you collect weapons and armor and upgrade abilities. So at their core they are similar games with different points of view.

That would be saying that any and every game would be alike since we're all trying to complete the game. What you're mustering is nonsense. Both games have different scopes, goals and audience.

In both games you kill monsters and collect their loot while gaining experience to increase your skills. You then use those items and skills to kill bigger stronger monsters and collect better loot.
Borderlands is a FPS dungeon loot hunter with rpg elements and Torchilght is a isometric loot hunter with rpg elements. While the FPS aspect of Borderlands appeals to a bulk of the FPS crowd both games still appeal to those who enjoy ARPGs.You want them to be so vastly different then fine believe it all you want.

I would also argue that Borderlands has a tactical element to it as well. You need to use cover, avoid being out in the open, and revive your teammates if they go down.

Other than that, the goals in Torchlight and Borderlands are pretty similar... It's all one big dash from one pile of loot to the next.

i guess they are similar but i meant more like their audiences are different, borderlands is more a FPS shoot what moves game and torchlight is a top down (kinda) beat em up the only similaritys are the perk system and you level up, and they are mission based the gameplay is completely different though

Im glad i never bothered preordering now.

SUMMER 2012 was the seller for preorder ...... this was obviously to get funds for development with no chance of it being ready for then.

If i preorder something no matter what the cost and it says ill have the goods SUMMER 2012, you expect it by then.

Summer doesn't end until September 20-somthing, and it definitely sounds like it'll be done by then. Either way, quit being a whiney baby.

And no, Runic didn't need the money to finish the game. This isn't kickstarter. I'm not sure, but I don't think steam even gives them the money until they deliver the goods, because steam will let you cancel preorders if you contact them.
