Red face one of my USB ports "died"

Everything was working fine before I shut down the computer to go to work. I come back home and when W7 starts it gives me the "...unable to install drivers" message. The wacom I had connected to that port is not working. Plug it into a different port, it works. To check if it is actually the usb port, I plug a flash memory and nothing...

It shows up as "unknown device" in the device manager.

Any clues?

EDIT: Also, I'm trying to get newer drivers for my USB 3.0 controller, but the one in the Asus site seems to be outdated, Intel has a newer version of it, although I'm not sure if it is meant for my mobo.

It is the Ranesas/NEC chip btw.

Ok, tried doing this and the results have been a mess. I uninstall but then right of the bat windows tries to install the drivers again. In some cases the m/kb stop working... is there any other way to do this?

Oh, first time I heard that. Will try now.
