MapleStory Not available in your region.

I'm from Europe myself and I saw some of my friends from the US playing this game.
However, when I clicked on MapleStory, it told me the game wasn't available in my region.

Will this be fixed for Europeans?
I'd really like to play this game, if only for friends and nostalgia.

Probably not. There are different region versions of maplestory. MapleStory(US) MapleSea(australia, orient) MapleEurope

If there are different regions already for the game why do they not release those versions on Steam in their appropriate regions?

Maybe give them time to release those versions? Honestly don't think a post on a Steam thread will change anything...

The same reason that the different region versions haven't come onto steam for Nexon's other games.

My game just gets stuck after 'Preparing MapleStory for install...".

There's been a few games where I've had it hang up on the "preparing" step. Sometimes you just have to wait it out.

So play it. Just google "Maple story", first result. You don't have to play every game through steam you know!

Nexon blocked EU from using US servers long time ago. So no, won't happen due to Nexon policy of IP blocking.

There is no difference other than payment options. Unless you actually pla to spend money you're not getting anything out of the Steam version you could get directly from the EU Maple Story website.

From what I knew, it's different developers. Same game, different region, different developer, different level of patching.

Back when I played, MapleSea was at like version 1.4, MapleStory at 1.2 and mapleeurope at .5. Or something in those ranges. Point is, they were updated far apart even though the content was 99% the same.
