About to purchase this, good or not?

  • Case: Corsair C70 Vengeance Black
Power Supply: Corsair GS Series 800W PSU 80+ Bronze PSU-
    CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.40GHz @ 4.30GHz CPU
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z77 DDR3 Motherboard
Cooler: Corsair H80 All-In-One Hydro CPU Cooler
RAM: Vengeance Low Profile 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
    SSD: Intel 330 Series 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s
    Hard Drive: 1TB HDD
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 2GB GDDR5 Watercooled Card
    Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
Optical Drive: LG DVD+/-RW SATA Drive
    Monitor: Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor & 3D Vision 2.0 Kit

Just after some opinions on this before I pull the trigger on the purchase. With my limited experience it looks like a damn fine package but then I am not so good with the hardware side of things.

It is impossible to say is it good or not until you say for what you are going to use it. If it is only for gaming than it is terribly overpriced hardware.

Hmm my mistake, it will mostly be used as a gaming rig but with some video editing thrown in for local charity groups that I support.

Hmm overpriced? no prices mentioned

What's with the 800W Power Supply totally unneeded for that setup..
Unless you plan on SLI ,even then 800W will do

FWIW full water cooling doesn't use that much more power than a Standard setup..

If you don't plan on sli drop the PSU to a HX650W or XFX 650W / Seasonic X 650W (All made by Seasonic FWIW)

How do you plan to water cool the GTX680 the Hydro is no good for cooling it you need a water loop not a sealed UNIT..

Waste of money. You're paying for a piece of plastic and some tiny fans that will eventually start to whine. There are other Asus Z77 boards available that are cheaper and have more ports/connections.

Is there a particular reason you're paying for water cooled parts? The pumps aren't exactly quiet, and failure could result in a very expensive mess. If noise levels are a concern, there are plenty of good, quiet CPU coolers and video cards available.

I mean such hardware as GTX680, Vengeance Low Profile RAM, ASUS Sabertooth, i7-3770K (btw why "K"? Are you going to overclock?) is overpriced now because it is "top". I believe this system is a huge overkill for gaming purposes only. You can run almost any modern game with i7-2600/FX-4170 and GTX560 on high grapics settings. I have GTX550 and it gives 40+ fps in Skyrim with hi-res textures packs and better models mod on highest quality.
Anyway, thats just my opinion, and its your money. But i would never buy such hardware without a serious purpose.

Since he's going to video edit, it's an awesome build!

Drop the 680 and get the EVGA 670 FTW.

If I were building from the bottom up, that's about what I would put together. Maybe the Seasonic X 650 or the Kingwin Lazer Platinum 550w for a PSU which will last a few builds.
