Release 8/31/2012?
I went to the gamefly website and noticed that the TL2 and preorder bonus was featured and right underneath the picture it had the release date of 8/31/2012.
http://www.gamefly.com/download-games/?fromd2d=1 Underneath the featured title tab. Is this true? |

These sites have to put a date somewhere because of their system, even if it's incorrect or unknown. Usually with unknown games, they just guess until a date is announced.
Take steam, for example. The store page says Summer 2012, but if you actually choose to buy it, it has shown a variety of different specific dates depending on when you went to the purchase page. What it all boils down to is that these sites don't magically know the date... Runic has not officially set a date yet. They seem to think that there's a few more weeks of work to be done, but they don't know for sure how many a 'few' is. http://forums.runicgames.com/viewforum.php?f=30 For more info on the progress being made toward completing the game, read the topics near the top labeled "Not A Blog Redux" They talk about how the acts, events, enemies, gameplay mechanics, and skill systems are being tested, polished, and added to.. also the addition of new models, sound effects, and other stuff like that. yup. the sites just put a date for no reason, it could come out in august but it looks more like mid september to me (at its soonest) they put a date cause it has to have one, i dont know why they dont put summer 2012 but if a date gets announced these forums will be spammed with it.

What a bunch of liars! Runic never EVER bundled both games for $34! For STEAM or any other place the deal is $19.99 + Free TL1! |

People buy PC games from Gamefly?
Oh, hmm, Gamefly acquired Direct2Drive. Last edited by killer_2468: 08-14-2012 at 07:05 PM. |

Far less people are going to buy a game when under the title it says "Unknown Release Date" putting a false one in it's place will get more impulsive buys. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with their system

No complaints so far at least. They have decent sales sometimes. Brent |

I had only 3 out of 11 things transfer over from D2D for the first couple months. Then I checked a few weeks ago and the rest was on there except Neverwinter Nights 2 and its 2 expansions.
Apparently no one sells it anymore, steam/gog/gamefly. Kind of mad because I had already bought it and it wasn't downloaded when they decided, we don't want to offer it anymore so thanks for the money. |

The real date will first be placed on the Official Torchlight 2 and Runic Company Websites. STEAM and everywhere else will then get the true date. Before that happens, any 'dates' coming from anywhere else is a mistake or a lie. |
