Game view shifted to the left

In some games, like Crysis 2 and L4D (which never happened before) the screen is shifted left. I can't see anything on the left side which is cutting off some buttons.
This has never happened before, it is only with some games, not all, and all drivers etc are fully up to date.
Any suggestions?

While playing the affected games, have you tried hitting your monitor's Auto-Adjust button?

No. But you gave me an idea. I never checked the resolution on the games and sure enough, they had been set too low. So thanks! I have a solution. All is back to normal.
