So, they've pushed back a release date that didn't exist?

The date Steam is providing is a placeholder date. Back when I pre-ordered my copy, it said July 2012. Runic Games never made an official announcement yet regarding release date, but we can expect one between now and two to three weeks as September is almost around the corner.

Yes, because whining about the release date in yet another thread is going to make Runic speed up faster. Seriously, just have patience and you will eventually get a well polished game.

someone should make a thread explaining this, RUNIC NEVER SAID THAT. everything about release dates besides summer 2012 is just the places selling the game (steam, or retail websites) putting in a place holder

they should have made it in July or August, there's almost no competition in these months and I've stopped playing D3 weeks ago.
In october I'm back in college and I don't know if there is any room for another game besides Dishonored and XCOM... |

If it isnt Summer 2012 release , those words should never have appeared in the ad for pre orders.

The retailer is to blame for false release dates. They use them to attact customers rather than actually waiting until the date is set. Valve used Runic's updates and posts that they were hoping to finish the game by the end of summer.
It should be branded as false advertising in my opinion if it's gonna spark hate at the wrong people. Or at least a PSA to stop these posts. |

I was hoping it was going to be early August before I was back in school. Now I'll have barely any time to play

WRONG. Runic said summer and also said they expected to release a month after Diablo III (Which would have been June). That's not assumption or retailers or a random website, it's Runic. Be informed or be ignorant forever.

So what?
The game has already been in open beta so it's hardly vaporware. The dev is doing exactly what they say they are: fine tuning the final release. |
