Account Stolen

My account was stolen, I want to know why steam support doesnt answer to my question, as always. --'

Im getting kinda mad with steam.... Its not the first time this happens.

Now I understand why people download games from illegal websites.

Firstly, threats like that won't get you any where any faster. Secondly, the usual response time is 2-4 days so be patient and they will get to your ticket eventually.

Be sure to follow these instructions: Reclaiming a Hijacked Steam Account

a) Be patient with Steam support.
b) Be more careful with your account. I don't see how anyone could manage to get it stolen unless they click an obviously dodgy link or fall for a phishing scam.

Consider the following

1) Enable SteamGuard
2) Enable SMS authentication on your email (yahoo/gmail/hotmail)
3) Install MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes

Consider your own computer security

1) Dont download shady things from the internet
2) Nothing is free on the internet. Nothing.
3) No one will ask you for your email password. ever.

Yeah, downloading stuff off scrupulous sites is going to work great for you if your security is already regularly compromised as it is

Better to work on keeping your account info secure than resort to piracy.

If you're getting compromised MULTIPLE times follow my steps above but add this at the beginning

1) FORMAT your computer
2) Reinstall windows with a non-pirated version. Pirated windows copies are full of viruses.
3) DO NOT INSTALL any pirated software. These too are full of viruses. Delete them from your computer

then proceed with the steps I outlined.

The problem is not with steam

It's with you. You'd better figure that out quickly or you're simply going to get hijacked again and again and again with other services.

Dont' justify your piracy with the fact that you cannot seem to secure your computer and your account.

he Support link is at the top of each forum and store page.

The forums can not help with account issues.

Sticky: Please Do NOT post account-specific problems

Quote:
Since the Forums are not moderated by Valve Employess on a full-time basis, it is impossible for the moderators to help with these requests. We will be moving account questions out of the forums. I hope everyone understands that the reason for this is to help resolve account issues as quickly as possible.
Contacting Steam Billing and Support

Reclaiming a Lost or Hijacked Steam Account

Sticky: Mkay's common sense guide to: Computer Security

The response time varies according to the number of open support tickets submitted before yours and the quality of information in your ticket.

If you have more to add, add to the open ticket rather than submitting a new one as that only slows the process but it does NOT put you back to the end on the line as some people suggest.

--------------------

Beyond that, the others in this thread are correct.

You need to figure out how this is happening and prevent it in the fuiture. Get hijacked several times and Support will perm lock the account.

Account security is your responsibility. Not Valve's or anyone elses, just yours.

Please read and follow Steam security recomendations.

As others have pointed out, you have a security threat you need to plug if you don't want this to keep happening.
Either a security issue or a lousy credential management you need to put some work into it.
In few cases, Steam has withold the account until those steps are taken.

A bit of work can save you a lot of headaches...
