Is nVidia control panel safe to use?

I read that VAC FAQ again @Steam Support page, but it doesnt say that tweaking games via 3rd party tools is allowed.
I want to know is that safe, since today even changing steam files can get you banned, and i dont want to take even smallest risks.

I'm wondering is it safe to add games in it,because it's actually altering the game's behavior, engine manipulating, changing AA,V-Sync,Anisotropic filtering and so on..

I'm sure that the NVIDIA Control Panel is ok to use. I've been using it to configure settings in some of my steam games and have not been VAC banned. I also remember asking support a question a few months ago when I was having problems with my laptop using integrated graphics instead of dedicated graphics for games and they suggested using NVIDIA control panel to set preferred graphics processor to my NVIDIA card, so I'm certain it's safe to use.

Nvidia control panel is safe. I mayself had it running for months on my laptop and nothing has happened.

If a graphic card utility, issue by the card maker, granted a ban in some way or another... You'd hear the cries on this very same forum.
And so far no one is complaining

Using your control panel provided by your videodriver is fine. Your paranoia has no base and in general is just stupid. Not even Punkbuster kicks you for that and that one is extremely picky.

Ati and Nvidia features are fine to use in any way you can without using a thirdparty plugin (cheat.dll). All inbuilt features are fine to use in any way you like.

You can't hide a cheat as a plugin for a legit program, it will be detected.
