1080p resolution fix by Durante

HOW TO INSTALL:
-Download the zip file from the link
-place both of the new files into the Main Dark Souls Directory folder (where the games .exe is located)
-Edit the "DSfix.ini" (with notepad) file with the resolution you wish to use or downsample from.
-Save the file and launch the game

Be sure to turn off the IN GAME Anti-Aliasing and Motion Blur setting, otherwise, you could get a black screen.

He must've just posted the download because I've been checking a lot. So releasing it every half hour or so is an overstatement.

It's an awesome fix by Durante for sure. But there's one FATAL flaw with it at the moment. For many users (and for me) there's a problem, when using the fix you can't read the messages on the ground, there's no text when you read them.

I REALLY hope this gets fixed asap since it's a night/day difference in image quality!

Yeah waiting until that issue is fixed to continue.

Getting much better performance using the fix. Was getting frame drops without it.

The game has been out for a little over an hour, and he's already put out 2-3 versions.

He's also working on fixing the file for a better AA solution if I'm reading it correctly.

It doesn't help that the game is locked at 30 FPS either. That would be an awesome fix as well, although I wouldn't expect that just yet.

Ya same here. Besides that everything looks alot better. Got Anti alias @ 16xQ & Antiosp at 16x and getting a steady 30FPS

Okay, see, this right here is why developers need to fix this crap THEMSELVES.

No support for higher resolutions, framerate caps, confined FOVs, are all unacceptable these days. It shouldn't be up to the gamers to fix these crappy ports. The developers are supposed to provide these very basic features themselves.

Now we all have to wait and see if this pirate modder guy can succeed in getting this bloody thing to work. And then we have to apply the tweak ourselves.

Does it also remove some game text? Like if you open your menu . The one with the pouch, the shield, the man and the book. No text appearing there either.

Yes, text is missing from those menu elements too. Probably it was somewhat hardcoded into the initial resolution.
