Can't load Steam community pages

Turkish pals; yesterday another Turkish Steam user suggested me to use a dns service called FoolDns. It worked great. Both steam client and blocked websites work like a charm. Find FoolDns through Google and apply it. And add me as a friend. Cheers!.

It's not just about the DNS. I want to know why Valve blocked Google DNS. What will happen if they block FoolDNS too?

I don't think they blocked Google DNS; even if they did I don't think it's in purpose. Anyway we are still waiting for some explanation.

Thanks a lot for sharing this. Store and Community sections, both of which weren't working before without disabling Google or OpenDNS, are now working for me. Also bumping to get some official information from Valve.

Tava configurado como DNS automático no Windows, mudei pra 8.8.8.8 o primário e 8.8.4.4 o secundário e as páginas da Steam que não tavam carregando abriram na hora. In short, you define hosts values from a recent ip addresses of CDN (which I got from a friend of mine) and it works again!

None of the dnses (including fooldns) worked for me, so until then it's a solution.

And even altering the DNS could not fix it.

Either Steam CDN or the ISP should fix it. Until then this is the best thing "we" can do.

Your ping on game servers will not be affected because they are direct connection. A domain name service resolves NAMES(like www.google.com) and transform them in numbers(eg 123.123.123.123).

A game uses direct connection (numbers), and most of the games also use stable one time only connection. I solved this problem with leaving my dns to ISP too but ofcourse I'm not satisfied my result because TTNET has banned several website's addresses.

Beside that, I'm not sure someone write this before me, I have another issue with this whole thing. These are my traceroute results:

I set my steam server as Germany-Frankfurt.
So, anyone ever consider the problem in between some steam servers and google/opendns.
I haven't test this because there's too many server in Europe but still like to hear your ideas...

I was having this problem today, and after a few hours I could access the profile page. But I still can't load the groups page.

Edit: I can load it via Steam Client but not on my browsers. But before I wasn't able to load the profile page via Steam Client too.

Same problem here, can't load any page from Steam, only the first one, the home page with all the new releases, when i click it just freeze and stay there forever, i click Home and he goes back to front page again.
