how long does it take for a vac ban to kick in?
If I am playing in a VAC server and have files that edit/add .dll's, how long would it take for VAC to scan the file?
I am testing ENB series mods and SMAA injector on tf2. These are not cheats in any way, but like I said, they edit files that may be detected by VAC. So far I have been using ENB on a seperate account for aproximatly 5 hours total over 3 days so far. How long does it take VAC to scan all the files, and does it result in an imidiate kick and ban, or does it take time before valve sends a email or something? Anyone who has gotten a ban, How does it work? Instant or takes awhile? thats all I need to know. |

It takes a while on purpose to keep the professional cheats (testers?) guessing which cheat got them banned.

Most bans happen within 2 weeks. (probably safe)
Some take as long as 6 weeks. (almost certainly safe) It has been suggested no bans take longer than 3 months. (definitely safe) If however it can be used to cheat, it can be added to the ban list at any time. |

The VAC-Ban can come at different time. The fast is five days or a week the latest is 3 months (VAC-worker examine the ''Cheatsfiles'' wich were dedeckted on your PC).
Waiting three months and when you not banned, it's all ok ![]() Quote from https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...4044-QDHJ-5691 VAC may not ban you immediately - the cheating violation may have occurred days or even weeks before the ban is apparent on your account. |

I've tried out the ENB postprocessing injector in tf2 and I'm a tad bit paranoid now.
Hm. |
