[Problem]Krater randomly closes/crashes, no error messages.

This used to happen before on my desktop, and now I'm on my laptop and this problem still persists. While I play, the game will just abruptly close. No message like,"Krater has stopped responding," it just closes. Usually happens right when I get into a fight and start to use my abilities.

Are you using a slayer in your party at the moment? I crash every 15 minutes on average with a slayer in my party, but I can get a good 1.5-2 hours without a crash if I swap him for a regulator. I know this is less than ideal, the slayer is by far my favorite class... just a suggestion if you want to be able to play the game right now.

That did the trick, thanks! Sad I had to emasculate my party by removing him though.

I solved my problem in the same way I solved it for Dragon Age II. I underclocked my GTX580 (x2 sli) and the game runs just fine. Before that I had CTD after 1-2 minutes of playing with no error reported.

The bug with the slayer should be solved by now. Please let us know asap if it persists.

there is hopefully a folder called

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Kra ter\crash_dumps
or
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Kra ter\console_logs

which should contain your crash files

if they are big you can upload them to rapidshare in a zip/rar file and post the link otherwise use the sites in the read this first sticky to post them

the crash/log files helps trying to find and correct the error that causes this

or 1 of the community people can check if we've seen it before and have a solution that can make you play crash free.

I am assuming that the wiredhands in the second one was going to be replaced by yourusername?

Aright so the crash_dumps file is empty. Here is the console_logs https://rapidshare.com/files/1317512...3-bae143ea.log

Also should I try all the stuff from this http://segmentnext.com/2012/06/18/kr...zes-and-fixes/

I compared your log against one of my own

and mine was free of the word 'crash' were as yours had this one

00:31:36.321 [Crash] Error in foundation\memory\page_allocator.cpp:36, build 10370

Assertion failed: p

Page allocator failed allocating 271056886 bytes, total 897777664

00:31:36.321 [Crash] In thread main

00:31:36.836 [Crash] LuaStack
stack traceback:
[0] [C]: in function update
[1] foundation/scripts/util/script_world.lua:189: in function update
[2] foundation/scripts/managers/world/world_manager.lua:57: in function update
[3] foundation/scripts/boot/boot.lua:129: in function foundation_update
[4] scripts/boot.lua:20: in function update
[5] foundation/scripts/boot/boot.lua:171:in function <foundation/scripts/boot/boot.lua:165>

I can't find something definitive, but atm my guess is something is either wrong with your memory or your pagefile, because it seems to fail when it tries to allocate memory. This could also happen if Krater have a memory leak and your system runs out of memory that Krater is allowed to allocate.
It can also be something that happens because you maybe aren't on the most recent drivers for gfx/sound.
