Including Sherman Hill, London-Brighton, Northeast Corridor and Isle of Wight routes with a choice of superb locomotives to run on them, TS2013 puts you in the driving seat with features such as Quick Drive, Relay Play and Steam Workshop.

Also watch out for Train Simulator 2013 Deluxe including Munich-Augsburg and the ICE 3, coming soon.

Train Simulator 2013 (Standard edition) will be available on Steam from 20 September 2012. From that day, Train Simulator 2012 will no longer be available on Steam. Today, we will be taking a close look at what this means for existing TS2012 users and new TS2013 users, what is included with Train Simulator 2013 and more.

If you wait until Deluxe comes out, you get even better value because Munich-Augsburg is also included but the rrp is not much higher. Whatever you decide to do, you will get good value.

If you own TS2012 and pre-order TS2013 you will get all the routes mentioned added to your collection (including the fabulous Sherman Hill, London to Brighton, Northeast Corridor and Isle of Wight) for the price of TS2013 making a huge saving over buying them individually.

It also says I already own the game too.
Well, that's not exactly the scenario mix we were expecting, but if that's the base game that's very nice that Sherman Hill, London to Brighton, Isle of Wight and Northeast Corridor are the new baseline.

Does that mean Munich-Augsburg will be in Deluxe?

Or perhaps they're still mixing and matching the bundle, and or getting ready for release with some test packaging?

Probably haven't finalised the route mix. Doubt it will be just those mentioned.

Will preorder, both to support them and to restart my install as it's grown so big.
Will try to be bit more selective, but doubt I have the self control......

I just did a fresh install last night to see if it would fix a minor issue with a LB scenario, but also to get a "clean slate" for the upcoming patches.

Whenever I find myself tempted to let my enthusiasm get away from me, I just remind myself that it's not me that gets to the mailbox first or opens up the credit card bills.

I didn't hear anybody come right out and say this, and you sort of imply it, but the way they manage DLC licenses, it seems to me that if I were to pre-order TS2013 today, that the licenses for the previously released routes will show up today. I already have all those myself, so I'd still have to wait for Sherman Hill, but if I didn't have say, IOW and LB, and pre-ordered, I would immediately get IOW and LB since they are already released. Seems right to me, but maybe we should hear someone confirm.

Okay, throwing out more ideas here: one gap I was thinking of when I reviewed that list was the lack of good British Steam. I really appreciated the Black Five in Bath-Templecombe when I was learning TS2012, but where's the equivalent in this new mix? That 0-4-0 Tank engine I think is for Isle of Wight, but is that really the same?

Here's my new theory, which is almost entirely supported by wishful thinking: maybe this new J94 and Maerdy Valley short route would fill that role? That sounds like an excellent replacement for Bath-Templecombe.

Remember....none of the existing routes are going away for current TS2012 Users, and if you read the blurb closely the new route list says including Sherman Hill, L to B etc. so not excluding others, they are simply highlighting the new stuff....best not to panic for the moment and to wait and see what the 20th brings, but I doubt that anybody is going to lose anything that they alreday have.

I'm clear on not losing anything, and I recognize that the content list is probably still in last-minute editorial flux (although maybe less so now that its in pre-order.) But I was thinking in terms of what mix of content provides the most coverage of different types of experiences available, and thought that rural steam isn't as well-represented as it was with Bath-Templecombe.

Any idea whether the Deluxe version will also be available by the 20th?

On the podcast we discussed Wednesday they alluded to about 3 weeks after.

I gave Syrupvip some rep for being public-spirited and updating that first post.

Ouch 3 weeks after. I just plan on getting the standard version because it'll give me 3 new routes (Already own Northeast Corridor from the Haulin' USA Pack I got back when it was on sale for like $7.19)

And thanks for the + rep! I'll return the favor
