Hey ya'll...so I downloaded and installed the game...and now there is no icon on my desktop...no option in steam? I went to the folder I installed it in and don't see an .exe file anywhere...

Don't think anyone knows yet how long it takes from the moment a game that is ready to ship is Greenlit to when it's released on Steam. I guess we will find out. I'm guessing a week plus ValveTime.

I have the same problem as the op, installed it, (it has installed the sdk 2007 with it automatically) but there's no way to start the game.
I can see the game files in teh steamapps/sourcemods/bms dir, but no .exe and I can't find anything in my library of games either. Restarted steam, nothing. Bit lost...anyone can help? |

To everyone who can't figure out how to launch Black Mesa. Have you restarted Steam after installation? Restarting steam is a REQUIRED step in the installation process.
As far as when it will appear on Steam through Greenlight, idk. They are greenlit so they probably just have to send a build to Steam, but today's release date was announced before they even added their project to Greenlight so I'm sure they wanted to stick to it even though they did manage to get greenlit. |

Yeh I am going to wait for Steam release. Better for updates. Waited for so long a little while longer won't hurt.
Xen isn't released yet anyway. |

Same problem here, it's not in my library, there's no .exe, restarted Steam and my computer a few times, nothing. The only way I can play it is if I run the setup from start to finish. It launches after setup, but as far as I can tell, there's no other way to launch it, they've worked on this for years, but can't add any way to actually launch their game? This is insane.

People, read this line and comprehend it.
You NEED to install the Source SDK 2007 AND then restart Steam. That is how you get it in your library. |

I tried downloading from numerous sites and I wasn't getting anywhere. I'm thinking I might have to wait for it be on STEAM. |
