For some reason, almost any web-related page, such as the Steam store, as well as the post-game adverts that popup, are taking EXTREMELY long to load. Videos on Store Pages take atleast around 10 seconds just to begin (it's usually instantaneous), followed by having to buffer every 8 seconds or so... The post-game adverts load in similar fashion to what good ol' dialup was like, popping in several lines at a time of the image. And don't even get me started on trying to view my screenshot library
. And before you point the obvious finger at my internet (and in alot of cases I would too; Comcast blows), I've actually been getting a consist 25Mbps download/4Mbps upload, which is exactly what I pay for.Is there some kind of cache flush for Steam I can perform or some other tips? I thought maybe it was a result of the Beta Update I applied to get the new Big Picture feature, so I switched back to the stable release; still horrible. Anybody??

I'm actually having this exact same problem. Started about a week ago and has continued ever since. Everything but My Library and the News tab takes ages to load. I haven't installed anything new on my PC to have caused this to happen. I tried forcing the client to update by deleting the clientregistry.blob file, the very first screenshot i loaded came up instantly, but after that everything immediately went back to being extremely slow.

Well, News was working earlier but it isn't now. And the Steam Store page has been filled in with a blank, white abyss. I guess i'll open a support ticket...

Looks like this isn't an isolated issue, or a client side issue. Just confirmed it with 2 of my friends, both of which live on opposite ends of the country from me. I also have the same problem. The update news pop-up won't even load on some of the pages.

About to post about this same issue until I saw this thread. Web content, Steam store, adverts, community profiles are all loading slow. It's like web browsing on a 56K connection. Started happening couple days ago.
Even though everything loads slow, my in-game ping is fine and so are my content download speeds (3 MB+ /sec). |

I've been having this exact same problem for about a week. No matter what I seem to do everything within Steam is loading really slowly (Store, Community, update news).

Also the actual website (using Chrome) appears to be loading images very slowly for me as well.

Yep, same here.
Yeah I live in central Illinois, connecting to the Chicago server. Never been a problem before so I doubt ISP is to blame |

I had that problem before. The solution was to change the DNS server on my router/modem. Use openDNS or google DNS. Google it
