Arma 2 combined opperations

everytime I try to run it I get this message.
this game is currently unavailable (application running)
Please if anyone knows how to fix this.
Help!

I'm having the exact same issue as this guy, I deleted the game (and Arma2 for good measure), created a new clientregistryblob, verified the game cache, but nothing seems to work.

Check if the game or any of its parts isnt runing in background.

how you do that?
I also deleted game and reinstalled it and nothing.
I'm to the point that if i dont find a fix I'm not buying anything on steam no more.
I really want to play Dayz and see what all the fuzz is about.

I looked on the BI forums (game developers), found this (page 120, 121)
