I have just made my first server and everything seems to work well except that some people can't join. I know that my server is working properly because I can join it without problems and some1 else already joined and played on it. But my friends either couldn't find it or couldn't join because their computer gave them an error that said "could not connect to server after 4 retries." Can anybody tell me how to fix this? I am using a DSL connection 1.5Mbps. And the server is taking up only 10% of my CPU. I looked through the forum and didn't find the answer. Either my question is really silly or rare. Please help. I really want to get my server working.

Do you use a router? If so are the ports forwarded properly?

Oh! one more thing. Can somebody please test my server. My IP address is 192.168.1.97
If you can join than great and if you can't than please tell me what error do you get. Your feedback is very important. Thank you very much. |

That IP is your internal IP, those from the outside cant hit it. You need your external IP

This is a command I had to put into our config a while back after one of the steam updates. Some players could get on my server but others were getting refused and some strange messages in the console too. This command in the server.cfg sorted it. |
