Are you allowed to run two Steam accounts of yours at once? ..and in regards to it

Same computer, same OS. Using for example Sandbox? I haven't found anywhere in the 'Steam Subscriber Agreement' that this would be forbidden, but I am asking to be sure..

OR simply using one external drive for one Steam account and using the 'computer drive' for the other Steam account.. Or using two internal HDD/SSD.

The generally accepted answer is "don't get caught"

You can have as many STEAM accounts as you want running at the same time, its against the rules to have more than one Steam Users' forums account.

I have been thinking and I believe this would be beneficial if your using your most played games on a SSD and the other (bigger amount) of games on your HDD...

Which then means having one Steam account on SSD and one other Steam account on HDD would be the only way? In order to be able to play all games (from both Steam accounts) without having to changing -logging in to account...

Any other ideas?

You can have as many accounts as you want, but on same computer only one may be active,if you try to run second instance of steam,it wont let you,you cant 5 steams as you can open firefox 10 times and work in 10 different sessions.

If you install a game through you can choose the folder you want to install it too. Valve introduced it some month ago.

Hmmm, are you sure? Thats too bad if it's not possible somehow

I did think/hope it was working like for example FF in which you can have more than one instance of the program running at same time... although in this case at different HDD/SSD's..

So then sandbox is the only way to come around it... or?

I found this support site about it - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...8963-EIKC-3767

and there I can read

"Yes, you can access different Steam accounts from one computer. However, you may only access one account at a time."

"you may only access one account at a time"

I wonder what that is suppose to mean.... since it's possible to access two different accounts at a time..

That's weird... because i've had three instances of steam running with different accounts logged into each on a single pc before now!

You can't do it by default, but you can do it... for example, Sandbox, which the OP mentioned as the way he wanted to DO IT.

Have rep cylon.

As he posted, natively it isn't possible but by using sandbox or a vm it's possible. There's nothing in the SSA to prevent you from doing so (at least not as far as I can see).

You can't access two different accounts at a time unless they are on different computers. The only way to get around that is using virtual machines inside one computer.
