Am I right in thinking..

Hey guys, am I right in thinking that pistols seem to be far more powerful than in previous games? I'm running around using the second unlockable pistol, and it seems a viable option to use throughout the match instead of strictly a secondary weapon that you'd normally use if you ran out of ammo. The pistols also seem to be closer, taking up more of the screen, this really gives the impression they pack a bit of punch, rather than CoD4's weedy little secondaries.

TL;DR: Pistols seem more powerful, am I right, or is this simply a placebo effect?

Opinions? I love pistols in Black Ops 2!

Pistol, the only weapon type that has mw2 style of damage profile, so yeah.

Damage seems to drop significantly over longer distances, but up close they are pretty good.

I played several matches yesterday with that same pistol, seems pretty decent.

Yeah, pistols rock once again. Each time I get a new one I just play pistol only, to see how effective they are. And, they are all good, with some of them outstanding.
