Does the Valve-store bought Portal 2 soundtrack come with box item?

The "what's in the portal 2 soundtrack box" item thing.

Not a big deal if it doesn't, but I bought one from the store while it was on sale and wondered if it would include that.

I am actually curious about this as well. I noticed yesterday while browsing the Valve Store that the Portal 2 Soundtrack CD listed there doesn't mention including the code for the "What's in the Portal 2 Soundtrack Box?" inside, and Valve usually makes a point to mention the inclusion of TF2 promos in their other items descriptions on the store.
So either they goofed or the promo is limited after all.

A while back I saw a link to an answer from Valve clarifying that all physical copies of the soundtrack would come with the code, but not digital downloads of the soundtrack. Since this is a physical CD it should include the code.

FYI, the store sale price is the same exact price it's been on Amazon for a while. I bought my CD on Amazon not as a pre-order and it came with the code.

Yeah, same here, except I got extremely lucky when I got mine on Amazon and only paid $13.12 for it. The weird part is that it was sold by Amazon themselves and was new/sealed, yet it had that highly unusual price.

A lot of times when Amazon sells something, their price for it will be low end average. Not the cheapest, unless you absolutely want or need to have new.

Amazon can often sell cheap, because they work in such bulk and can afford to have low profit margins.

Not to mention they can drive a harder bargain than smaller retailers, and negotiate discounts for themselves.

I just got mine from Amazon.de. They didn't mention the codes either.

Yep its quite the exploit. I know someone that bought dozens of them then dumped all the boxes into TF2WH.
