Question I'm in love with the Flying Guillotine. Seriously, why aren't more people using it?!!

It's a ranged weapon with 50 base damage, applies bleed, mini-crits at long range, does full 150 damage crits on stunned targets, and recharges in 6 seconds flat! This weapon is incredible, especially when paired with the Sandman, it's like the Scout's version of Puff n' Sting...Bonk n' Fling! (Oh yeah, I so just coined that term! Bonk n' Fling, have it copyrighted, I want a nickel everytime someone says it!)
Seriously though, why aren't more people using this incredible weapon? I just got one a week ago in a trade and I can't stop using the thing. It's insanely fun to use, highly effective in combat, and quite possibly the Scout's best combat oriented secondary, yet I just don't see that many people using it.

Lots of people have a hard time aiming it. It's only better than the pistol if your aim is really consistent or your opponents move predictably.

It's a lot of fun with the Sandman though. I like to use the Wrap Assassin for extra bleed annoyance.

It's a nice sidegrade, but I'd like it a lot more if I could actually hit anything with it. Until that happens I'm sticking with the pistol.

Because you're locking yourself into that playstyle by using the Guillotine and Sandman. Besides, the Scout already has a source of burst damage. It's called a scattergun.

Fixed. The weapon is very dependent on Sandman for its full effect, while there are a few utility Melee that do not use up HP as well as pistol for Dm and the many utility secondaries. It is a good weapon, but Scout has many incredibly useful secondaries to choose from.

Yeah, but the Scattergun is only effective at close range, whereas the Guillotine is for long range.

I laugh my off whenever some drooler misses his Sandman ball (95% of the time) and then throws the FG anyway, still missing me by a mile (100% of the time).

That's because the Scout is designed to be a close range class.

Using the Sandman/guillotine at long range is almost all luck. Scouts just spam the Sandman until they get a luck hit and then run like crazy to get close enough that they can try to get a hit with the guillotine.

It's more useful with the Wrap Assassin IMO. The bleed stacks and it disrupts aim which really throws some people off from what I've seen. Plus you don't lose any HP.

Because everyone else has already had it for a few months and it's played out. It's really not That Great.

No sentry damage
Not hitscan
Small projectile for a non-hitscan weapon
Doesn't work terribly well on it's own

If you wanna go throw hatchets at people all day go play COD and make some 360 noscope cross map hatchet montage or something.
