I've emailed Steam support about 72 hours ago, still no response from them so the forum looks like the way to go.
Basically there's a few games that won't install; - Sleeping Dogs - Hitman: Absolution - Thief I & II What happens is I hit install, and click next - Then all of a sudden the games are in white as if they've been downloaded and are ready to play. An empty folder for the game gets created in my SteamApps folder, there is _nothing_ in it. Obviously, if I click Play I get a missing executable error. The folders are empty but there's just no way to download and install them. I don't do any dodgy activity, I have no other illicit installed versions of the games on my computer. I'm doing this all through the Steam client. Yes I have tried to rebuild the game cache, it says that it's complete and makes no difference. What do you suggest I do to fix this? |

I'm having the same problem with Sonic Adventure 2. It's really annoying.

So people are having problems with games they got in packs. I got the Sonic Franchise pack by the way.
Interestingly, verifying the game cache works successfully. (even when the game isn't "installed"). |
