XCOM Enemy Unknown on a much bigger discount.

Go on greenmangaming, use coupon (won't tell you where it is - if you can't find something that's advertised on pretty much every page of this store, you're beyond any help), pay 17.5$.

Yup. About a half of what Steam wants you to pay if you're from US, and less than a half if you're from Europe ($ = €, really? Heugh).

Just saw similiar Painkiller thread, so I created one about XCOM so you guys don't waste your money too (how is this horrible offer on top sellers is beyond me).

...

I think it's trolling. No one is that foolish, no one fails at reading comprehension this much.

EU stands for Enemy Unknown, not Europe. But I bet you know that.

But since I bet many people can't read, I fixed the thread name to avoid confusion.

Personally, i still like Steam.
AND im quite sure Steam actually profits from this, otherwise why
allow GMG to sell Steam Keys rite?

This is probably Gaben's master plan to dominate
He knows that most of us want our games on Steam, so he distributes Steam Keys all over the interwebz.
Doesn't matter who sells at what price, as long as we're still using Steam to activate.

Just a theory i have, but really clever of Gaben if this is true. lol

Nope.avi

Valve usually doesn't see a single penny from third party stores' game offers and/or retail game (keys) for Steamworks titles, unless they get their keys from the russian Steam store or whatever ....

No i disagree.
When you activate GMG code XCOM, it actually says XCOM - Worldwide.
I'm pretty sure, its not a Russian version or something.

Quite sure steam actually sells the steam keys to the 3rd party retailers and let them set their own price.

Then again...where do the publishers come into the picture then? Aren't the publishers the one who decide what price to sell? Lol im confused.

I don't think it's much of a secret about the discount code at greenman. For the hard of hearing in the UK though, XCOM works out at £10.50 on their site. But Steam have had a few cracking offers too. Miner Wars 2081 at £4.74, Driver San Francisco £3.24, Giana Sisters £4.41. And the entire Tomb Raider franchise was on for £9.99 in a flash sale.

People will still probably moan though. I picked up the Strategy First Bundle, which includes Deep Black Reloaded and all three Flatout racing games. 69 games for £18, okay, some have been around the block a bit but still! A bargain's a bargain. £18 - That's less than a few sites (greenmangaming included) are selling Deep Black Reloaded for. It's swings and roundabouts with the deals really. If you know where and when to look, you're quids in.

Did you not use the 30% voucher? It should be under 13 euros. £10.50 GBP. *EDIT - Or did you mean dollars? I saw the euro symbol on your post.

I picked up xcom from GMG as soon as I saw it, was the kind of offer I was waiting for on it.

Some of the steam pricing hasnt been bad, mainly on their own or steam only games (CS GO, DOTA Offers, NS2) but a few other gems knocking about.

Also GMG Shogun 2 stuff on sale, with a further 30% reductions, I might have to bite on that one as well.
