Steam content servers unreachable...again...

I've reinstalled Steam multiple times, changed my download reigon, and restarted both my computer and Steam several times. Sometimes I can update a game and download it, sometimes I can't (more often can't then can). I tried futily another night to download a random game to see if it had fixed itself (Arma 2) and it started download to me joy. I then quickly stopped the download and deleted the game content (didn't actually wanted to download it) and tried another. 'Content servers are unreachable'. Another day I saw the little icon pop up saying 'Left 4 Dead 2 has updated' and thought nothing of it until I just realised now that it means I had managed to reach a content server somewhere.

WHAT THE STEAM. FIX ME.

May be notable to add a) I'm in Australia if that means anything b) I'm using a school loaned tablet, but I've been downloading and installing Steam based games off it for two years now with no problem c) I've had this content server unreachable thing before, but never this long (around three weeks now).

Also I've tried checking for proxies on my internet browsers but nadda.
If you have any solutions (I beg of you!), please chime in, but keep it simple, I'm not that advanced in technospeak.

you have a normal steam client on the tablet?
ever used Frey's steam filter?

maybe the steam limiter can help.

Yes to normal Steam client, and I tried the limiter a while back (re-tried then for good luck) and nothing. Thanks for suggestion though.

Another friend from school gaming on his tablet claims he's suffering the same problem at the moment. May be something to do with our school I.T system, perhaps the solution here is to wait it out. Annoying cause I just purchased some new stuff and was eager to try it out

if you are using a school network that's probably your problem.

bump.

Everything except Source Games are downloading properly, but to my utter bewilderment and confusion, Super Meat Boy can now be downloaded without getting this stupid message. And it's definitely not a Source game.

So what the hell?

Nothing works except what I listed. Out of the 100 or so games, only those three or four can install.

I think what I'll do is download the games I want from my other, less superior laptop which can't run , and then transfer the files across onto this computer. Hopefully that'll work
