I cheated for a tux
Well I didn't personally but, this is something that I was curious about and, a friend just confirmed it. I offered him the use of my Linux machine via Teamviewer to get his Linux Penguin. He said he was uneasy about doing that and, said he was gonna look and, see if there was another way on Youtube.
Okay, whatever, it's no skin of my nose. He came upon a video about changing what TF2 reads as your OS and, I guess he did it because I later saw that his name changed to I cheated for a tux. I thought he did it himself so I didn't press the issue but, we started talking about the penguin like 30 minutes ago and, he mentioned that Steam changed his name on it's own. I wondered why and, then it hit me. It had to have been because he didn't get it through the correct means and, the outcome made me laugh. I did a search for the name "I cheated for a tux" and, this is what I saw "Showing 1 - 50 of 3,884" amazing, huh. Last edited by SCE_Syn: 02-23-2013 at 08:41 PM. |

I'd break that up a bit.. because..... my eyes
But that's pretty funny. 78 pages of tux cheaters. It would be funnier if the tux name was changed to something along the lines of "BIG FAT CHEATER" |

I tried searching for "I cheated for a tux" and didn't get any hits, but a google search leads me to believe you.

Except it is.
http://steamcommunity.com/actions/Se...ated+for+a+tux Anyone who uses this program (that Valve is apparently taking action on) has their name changed to "i cheated for a tux". |

Nothing really creepy about it. It's funny as all get out though. It would be even more funnier if the people that used the wrong method of getting their Penguin, saw it disappear after the 1st unless they sign in on a Linux Machine.
Bravo Valve, Bravo. |

Well I cheated too. Installed Ubuntu on a VMWare virtual machine and attempted to launch TF2. Won't even start, but I still got a Tux. I deleted the virtual machine immediately afterward and will never have another reason to use Linux for the rest of my life.

On that list of people that used the cheat, it seems to tag even the people who change their names back so I'm guessing Valve will be taking action after the first.
I'm guessing it will be deleted and hopefully their packs wiped. Then they can get the notorious "Your items have been deleted" marker ![]() http://optf2.com/tf2/item/123 |
