I think for one day, every time someone gets a hat or misc. drop, everyone else playing TF2 globally gets that item as well (with a "gifted by" stat attached).

I think that would be a fun gimmick.

I went ahead and did it anyway.

MATH TIME

GOAL: We can find the theoretical monetary value of weapon drops by finding the balance between keys price in refined versus key price on the steam marketplace.

* Keys are being traded at around 3.66 ref and $2.25 (on the marketplace).

* Each ref is made up of 18 weps, so 3.66 ref is equal to (18*3.66) = 66 weapons.

* So, following this train of thought, and assuming the worst case scenario (each account gets a single weapon and not a hat/misc/tool), we can assume that it takes 66 simultaneous players to make $2.25, enough for 1 key.

* (This also tells us that each weapon is worth about $0.0341 ~ 4ish cents!)

* These theoretical "Mountain of Gifts" being equal to $1,000.00, or 444.44 ~ 445 keys. So how many accounts would it take, running simultaneously, to "farm" this mountain of gifts???

Assuming each account only gets 1 weapon, it takes (445*66) = 29,370 accounts to "farm" a internet-wide gift-giver. Cool. And now I've scratched my math itch.

Obviously not farmable with those numbers. Basically what I'm saying is, Captain M, is that you should make your own thread for this, because I think it's a decent idea. Why?

It's like those annoying wedding proposals, except it gives you items.
