How can I make TF2 run faster/smoother ?

Hi, I play tf2 on a toshiba laptop but it's a little choppy/slow, I have turned all the setting down on the game, and also you game booster to launch the game.
What can I do to make it run better? Is they any launch option codes I can put in?
Thanks
Jay

The easiest thing you can do is look into chris' highframes/dx9frames configs. They provide a fairly enormous boost to FPS from experience.

This is what you're looking for
http://chrisdown.name/tf2/tf2configs-final.zip

But keep in mind that Chris is no longer maintaining these, as they are slowly getting outdated and he no longer plays TF2.

Now that the question is answered, I can safely say...

HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER!

I think your old laptop might be dirty. You might want to try to wash it. Dust could be inside making connections spotty. What you want to do is submerge it in water for 20 seconds, take it out and shake it then let it dry for 24 hours. Turn it on and see if it helps. If not, wash again this time for 30 seconds. If you're really impatient, you can place it inside of the oven at 150 for 1 and a half hours.

That was 2 minutes of your life wasted reading it and perhaps another half typing a reply. Good job.

I am honoured you still bother to reply to me. Still hurt that you don't sign your posts to me though.
