Post Half Black Screen Error

While I was playing Darksiders today, some of the movies and cutscenes had a half-black screen, like so:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...7-10_00001.jpg
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...7-10_00002.jpg

I tried restarting the game, then Steam, and then my computer, but that didn't stop it. Here are some of my specs:

Alienware M14XR2
Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz
8.00 GB of RAM

Let me know what other specs you need to help me.

Hi, i've got the same Problem.
I have deleted the Videos and download it again, checked local integrity, restarted, and tryed another system restore point, with no Reason.

I think it's something with Windows Update, cause i could play without problems until windows was doing the updates.

My Specs:
Phenom II X6 1090t
8gb DDR3
Radeon HD 7870XT

You probably installed an update (Windows). It's a 'broken' update (also with other games/softwares there was this problem).

Just delete KB2803821, it worked for me (I'm using Win 7 64)

Sorry if there are some mistakes, I'm Italian.

Not sure how you guys figured this out, but thanks. Uninstalling the update mentioned above fixed the same problem in Darksiders. I spent a day uninstalling and installing new video card drivers :/

For those who have Win XP, the update to remove is the last "Security Update For Windows Media Player". Don't remember the number but you just can't go worng since there is only one with that name.

1) Control Panel.
2) Programs and Features.
3) Top left, View installed updates.
4) Let them load, may take a minute.
5) Under Microsoft Windows.

I HAD automatic updates on, and mine dated from 10/07/2013. I disabled automatic updates in case it picks it up again.

Oh... and it works. THANK GOD! I still half missed a boss kill cinematic that looked badass though

this reminds me of how they messed up dx10 from an update a couple months ago. i don't think that was ever fixed by another update...
