[Need Help] Games keep getting out of Full screen

I am constantly using my Lenovo laptop for gaming but lately I've noticed a recurring problem. When ever I am full-screen in a game, such as Bioshock, and I adjust the volume manually on the keyboard (using the "Fn" and arrow keys options), my game get out of full-screen mode and I end up seeing the windows task bar and such in my game. Additionally, a similar problem happens whenever I press tab +shift in order to check the steam community while in game; if I type for too long the game just gets up of full screen mode.

Is this a problem with steam or my computer?

I don't have this problem when streaming full screen from sites such as Netflix or Youtube.

How can I fix it?
