Exclamation The PAYDAY 2 Beta glitches / bugs / concerns thread - submit your problems here!

Hey everybody! This thread is designated as the resource center for the developers of PAYDAY 2 to see what is wrong with the game and what they can fix. Having said that, submit your game-play issues here so that Overkill will have a chance to look at it and examine the issues!

Keep a few things in mind;

Your bug / glitch / complaint should be "seconded" by other players, meaning that others should also be able to confirm the issue as well. This is because we are trying to solve issues that occur on a wide spectrum, and not only for 1 player. (I.E. the game breaking when you are trying to play on a 4-screen setup. Not everyone will be playing like that, and it is therefore considered un-important and a waste of time compared to what Overkill could be fixing instead. Unplug the other 3 monitors and play it on 1 like the rest of us.)

Please try to skim the main ideas of each section to see if your report may have already been addressed. If you do not see your complaint listed, then try searching through at least the last 2 pages in the thread to see if it has already been mentioned. If it has already been mentioned and people have seconded that complaint, then it is already being added to the list. This is to keep from clogging the thread with multiple complaints about the same thing. However, there is a difference between reporting a complaint and "seconding" a complaint (which are always welcome as they show just how many people are experiencing the same problem or have the same idea.)

Please stay on topic and only post if you have a Bug, Glitch, Concern, or a potential fix, and remember to be kind and courteous to one another! As previously stated, please check the list below to see if your bug/glitch or concern has been addressed already. If not, please check the last few pages of the thread to see if the complaint has been reported, or feel free to send me a PM with all details included if I'm not online!

Beta Update #1 Change Log here

Beta Update #2 Change Log here

Thank you!

(Btw, please check out the first and only deviantArt page for PAYDAY fan-art! If you've got a dA account and create PAYDAY fan-art, then this group wants you to join!)

COMPLAINTS

Complaint #1 - Overscanning Issues [FIXED; UPDATE 2, LOG #49 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Playing at resolutions such as 1024x640, 1440x900 and 1920x1080P cuts off portions the HUD and creates black bars on top and bottom (AKA Letter Boxes).

Complaint #2 - Field of View Slider Bar and HUD Layout [FOV SLIDER FIXED; UPDATE 1, LOG #9 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; FOV is considered low and makes players nauseous or dizzy. HUD Layout is considered hard to look at and not user friendly with current setup.

Complaint #3 - Steam Overlay; Steam Overlay (Interface) does not work for some players, and is inaccessible VIA Shift+Tab hot-key. Problem previously existed in PAYDAY: The Heist. In order to chat with friends on Steam, player must minimize PAYDAY 2 first.
Potential Steam Overlay fix solution here

Complaint #4 - NPC collision boxes; Enemy NPC's tend to "...twitch up and down..." and teleport on top of cars when walking near cars. They also tend to clip through other physical objects, bearing much resemblance to the same clipping done in PAYDAY: The Heist when lag is encountered in an online game.

Complaint #5 - ATI Radeon / AMD graphics optimization issues [FIXED; UPDATE 2 DESCRIPTION - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players running PAYDAY 2 on the ATI Radeon and AMD graphics card experience issues such as no lighting, compromised shaders, and overall poor optimization compared to other graphics cards. Another problem experienced by the majority of players is mouse lag, coming into play after choosing only certain resolutions. Various sources have said that while in-game experience may be ok, menu GUI's possess mouse lag which seems illogical. 1 example lists using an ATI Radeon 4800 series. Potential ATI Radeon Fix here

Complaint #6 - Game crashes on start-up for laptop users; Players attempting to launch PAYDAY 2 on a laptop have been unable to, as the game seems to crash out before it can load. 9 confirmed instances. This user has found what seems to be a potential fix to crash problems overall, that has worked with the users who have attempted the method. The fix can be found here.

Complaint #7 - Pre-order materials [FIXED; UPDATE 1, LOG #12 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Several players utilizing their Beta Keys have noticed in-game that they are unable to view, access, or retrieve the special pre-order materials promised to them. Materials include the Red-Dot weapon sight for all rifle weapons, Unique Skull Mask, and a unique color patter of the colors Red and Black. One player's screenshot evidence here of not being able to find his skull mask.

Complaint #8 - Deadly Depth of Field [FIXED; UPDATE 1, LOG #3 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Many upon many players are complaining about the Depth of Field and it's effects; From aiming down sights to simply walking around, it seems to be causing severe mouse lag and distorted video rendering during game-play, causing collateral damage and unnecessary amounts of incapacitation among players.

Complaint #9 - Watchdogs Day 2, trapping doors; Several players have confirmed that opening certain doors in the Watchdogs Heist, on Day 2, will open in such a way that it traps the player. One player gives an example of being trapped between a door and the adjacent railing, preventing them from moving anywhere else.

Complaint #10 - Blurry chat as new player joins; Many players have pointed out that as they are engaging in an online heist and when a player joins their game, the biggest disadvantage placed upon them is the inability to communicate with the new player since the chat is blurred beyond distinction. This seems to be a key element in communication with new players to the match, as they may need to know the situation at hand, what to do immediately after joining, or what equipment to bring in to assist the other players, although this is blocked from happening as the text cannot be read due to the blur effect placed on the screen while the new person connects to the game.

Complaint #11 - Ghostly De-synching; Many players have complained about their teammates synchronization in-game after being put in custody; Most of the time, the player in custody sees their clock counter at "0:00", whereas their teammates will continue to see the player's incapacitated body and a timer usually brandishing a time of more than 5 minutes, despite the player already being gone. This almost always occurs near the end of a heist, and as such, the surviving teammates often fail the heist due to not being able to escape and having to wait for the player in custody to disappear completely.

Complaint #12 - Automatic Resetting Screen Resolution; Many players have noted that upon changing their screen resolution in-game and restarting the game later on, their screen resolution will revert to the original resolution before any change was made.

Complaint #13 - Inaccurate player damage hit indicator; Many players have noted that when receiving damage by the enemy, the indicator on-screen does not seem to be update continuously. What this means, is that if a player receives damage from the left, then the left side of their screen will flash and brandish an indicator, showing damage from the left. However, the complaint here is that if the person were turning in that direction already as the damage is displayed, the indicator will take a static appearance and not move to highlight the current, real time position of the enemy attacking the player.

Complaint #14 - It costs HOW much?; Players have collectively agreed that the cost for guns, mask materials, and weapons attachments are outrageously expensive, if not, ridiculous. For example, the first upgrade one person bought for his pistol was the flashlight, which was about $32,000. A bit far-fetched, we all agree.

Complaint #15 - Unnecessary Collateral damage; Many players do not appreciate the fact that Civilians tend to purposefully bite a players bullet in the middle of crossfire between the player and enemies. This stems from the reasoning that since weapon and mask modifications cost a ridiculous amount of money, it is not fair to penalize the player so heavily for an accidental civilian kill, where one kill basically strips you of your portion of the earnings in spending cash for that heist.

Complaint #16 - Where's the mission?; Several players have come to agreement that the new Crime.net interface used to find your heists is, at best, a massively jumbled attempt at making what feels like a free-roam world choice for the player. One player took a screenshot of their Crime.net map, which shows just how cluttered it can appear. The majority of players appreciate the new aesthetic appearance which Crime.net holds, however, they said that they would rather have a formalized menu, where you can choose from options such as which map to look for, what difficulty to narrow down, and match privacy settings. Another reason many players stated is that rather than having to wait for a server to show up with the map you would like to play, a PAYDAY: The Heist stylized menu would provide exactly what is wanted, and when it is wanted.

BUGS

Bug #1 - Yelling at Loot; Players have noticed that they are able to yell at loot bags as if they are civilians / enemies. Can possibly interfere with game-play, although it is collectively agreed that it seems comical and is not a big deal.

Bug #2 - Environmental Interactions [FIXED; UPDATE 2, LOG #'S 10, 22, & 44 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players have shown that when one reaches a pager too late, a message will show up mid-interaction stating that "YOU DIDN'T RESPOND IN TIME". Players feel that during interaction, the timer should stop like in PAYDAY: The Heist, when players interact with other incapacitated players to bring them back, stopping the clock at it's current number, and resuming if further interrupted. Another notice taken was that if 2 players started interacting with the pager at the same time, and 1 leaves after realizing they are both working on it, then a message will display saying "Alarm Activated - You stopped", even though 1 player did not quit interaction.

Similar issues exist with almost any interactive item, although occurring differently. Players have stated that while interacting with an item, if a player joins their server, the item being manipulated will suddenly resist interaction attempts and require a restart. Once example provided by a player details alarm pagers that are activated as a result of a newly joining player.

Bug #3 - A Bullet with no name on it; A few players have affirmed that when in the Pear Store in the 4 stores heist, rounds fired from inside the Pear Store tend to not reach their targets on the outside, and sometimes even within the building itself.

Bug #4 - You yelling at me? [FIXED; UPDATE 2, LOG #5 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Many players have noticed that certain civilians in certain heists remain almost completely unresponsive to yelling commands given by the player, greatly decreasing any chance of being able to complete the mission in stealth mode as intended.

Bug #5 - I have the Intel, but I don't see a safe! [FIXED; UPDATE 2, LOG # 74- THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players have confirmed that when using the assets for the Rats and Jewelry heists, a safe is mentioned. Although mentioned, it is unable to be found in-game. Instead, a floating manila file folder will be at the location of the supposed safe, even when the safe is not visible. This is one players's encounter with the bug , and this is another player's encounter with the same problem, but in a different location.

Bug #6 - I asked for a gun upgrade, not an electric center! [FIXED; UPDATE 2, LOG #'S 21 & 42 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players have recently started confirming when their heist ends and after all players choose a card, that sometimes, if a player gets a weapon upgrade card, they will instead receive an electric center mask pattern.

This is one player's encounter. Before cards are revealed, and after the cards are revealed.

CONCERNS

Concern #1 - Native support for Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers; Many players are wondering if/when there will be native support for Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers. This seems to be a popular topic among players across the spectrum of consoles and PC.

Concern #2 - Ability to remove masks at will; Players would like to know if there ever would be a possibility that they can take their mask off once they put them on. This stems out of the reasoning that stealth in certain mission seems virtually impossible.

Concern #3 - In lobby or in game? [ADDED; UPDATE 2, LOG #51 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players have noticed that unlike it's predecessor, PAYDAY 2 no longer shows players whether an online match has started already, or if they are still sitting in the lobby. This is not a bug, although it is something people would like to see change, as they prefer to play a heist from the start and get full experience / cash flow.

Concern #4 - Wait, who's talking?; Players have pointed out that unlike it's predecessor, PAYDAY 2 does not show us who is talking in-game VIA voice chat, and the notification speech bubbles in the load-out menus should be made more visible and easily recognizable. Players would also like the ability to change advanced microphone options, such as settings like Transmit Volume, Receive Volume, etc. One user gave this example of a Microphone Options UI from the game "Planetside 2".

Concern #5 - What are you doing right now? [ADDED; UPDATE 2, LOG #11 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players would like to know if there ever would be a chance that, during the planning phase, an indicator can be implemented to show other players what one person may be doing. For example, if someone is looking through their Inventory, then an emblem or message will display just that. Players hope that going hand in hand with this, maybe a system can be designed to not allow the heist to move past the planning phase if a player has not finished crafting or using their inventory yet.

Concern #6 - Different heist, anybody? [ADDED; UPDATE 2, LOG #54 - THANK YOU OVERKILL!]; Players are concerned about the fact that they are unable to select a new heist after completing / failing their current one with others online. For example, in PAYDAY: The Heist, if a team were to play on First World Bank, regardless of whether they won or lost, they would be able to choose another heist of their choice at the end of the mission. This seems to not be the case in PAYDAY 2 though, and players are greatly expressing that they would prefer this to be an option in PAYDAY 2.

I found a glitch, it's when you download the game at 700 kb/s and it takes too long

The FOV is kinda low. An option to adjust it would be nice.

And the HUD feels kinda unlike PAYDAY. Having a better visible own HP would be nicer. Also, having your own HP in the bottom left corner like in any other FPS would be nice.

Are you going to curate a list of issue or are you hoping the posting stay clean enough for the Devs to get clear feedback?

Same problem here.I'm running a monitor with Full HD res(1920x1080) and I'm getting black bars too.I'm also using an HDMI cable, which might be causing the problem.Had the same problem with Payday 1 and since they're using the same engine,I was expecting this to happen tbh.
