crashs

ive just started making a map for hl2 and when i go to run it in sdk it loads the game up then crashs, i cant see any errors in my map in compile log + hl2 was working fine yesterday
and it says something about a memory error when it crashs

You make it sound like it is that specific map that doesnt work.
If so find where you saved it on your computer. Should be soemthing like:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(YOUR USERNAME)\sourcesdk_content\hl2\mapsrc
Unless of course you told it to save it somewhere ells... anyway, find it, there should be a (mapname).vmf and a (mapname).vmx.
Delete or change the name of the vmf and rename the vmx to vmf.

(The vmf is your last save. The vmx is the save before your last save.)

It has something to do with the SDK. You have to go in game(the game of the mod it's for). And run it.

huh?..... ohh. woops, I read Murder54's post wrong.. yeah do what witalldonebefor says.

For hl2 you open your maps through console (~) "map mapname"

yeah, when you compile, make sure hammer does not run the game after, seems to help with memory management or something
