Has anyone actually bought this???

I remember reading quite a good review of this once when it came out, anyone bought and played this? Is it any good or just not worth buying.

I like it, haven't gotten too far in it, but it captures
the Flavour pretty well. My past experience having
been with the board game put out in the eighties
by GamesWorkshop. Seems like a pretty straight forward
shooter.

This is a great game, and i highly recommend it. there where several points in the game i was reminded of quake 2. snipe, sneak or itchy finger trigger have fun.

nice game, its only a shame that one does not always have top downloadspeed through steam.

I got the retail version and the game is indeed very nice. It doesnt really do anything new but the design is very good and it has solid gameplay. A very pleasent surprise for me, since its also availible for xbox and ps2, was that it has no, none, nada console feel to it unlike for example bioshock.

I'd spring the $20 for it.

I bought it originally for the Xbox, but that's since been shelved, and after going back and reading some of the comics and novels, I decided to play through it again before I played the other two games (and since I didn't want to drag out the Xbox to do it, I picked it up on Steam).

I initially wasn't going to get this game because I generally prefer first person shooters and this is a third person shooter, but I happened to find it in a bargain bin for $10 so I grabbed it.

So far (have only completed the first two missions) it's been a good game.

This game is great, I bought it yesterday and have been having loads of fun with it since. Definately worth the $20.

It plays very similarly to Gears of War.

One of the things like about this game is that even though it's a third person shooter, it plays a lot like a first person shooter. You can't say that about most third person shooters which turns me off on them.

I personally think so. They both use a very similar system for taking cover behind objects (Gears of War is 100% based off this system), both feel like first person shooters, the only thing is, Gears of War (in my opinion) has -- well, not an awesome story as such, but the storytelling is excellent -- top-notch voice acting, and even has LAN/Internet co-op mode -- Which is 20x more fun than playing through it by yourself, trust me

Last night I finished this game and it was very enjoyable though a bit short, I estimate about 10 hours of play if you never die.

I died many times....

So I got well more than 10 hours of play out of it.

Spoiler:
The ending does leave hope for a Rogue Trooper 2. I hope there will be one!

I bought a copy off Steam, but sadly after about an hour of playing, the game suddenly decided to become sluggish. Not even restarting the game from an early point did the trick, I couldn't control it at all, even when bringing the video settings right down. So I did the only thing I could do, uninstall. I'll try it again some day, hopefully once Eidos have provided some proper support.
