Help: Skin Creation

Well, I am now wanting to learn how to create/edit player skins but of course I am unsure how.

I have two programs to use --

Photoshop cs2
&
Jed's Half-life Model Viewer

Are there any tutorials on how to edit a player model and one on how to create a player model.

Also, when I go to look through the steam files for the original ct skin/player to edit I can't find it, I can only find the ones that were downloaded from a server.

So all/any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

It got moved to the SDK general forum.

Anyway. To answer some of your questions - you should be able to extract the existing skins from the .gcf files using gcf scape. Creating a new player model is beyond me at the moment, but this wiki:
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Docs

Should cover the basics of just about everything you need to know to get started.
