game issues
the game installed and ran fine, but when i get through the menus and launch one of the games, all i get is a black screen.
i'm running vista ultimate 64 bit. i'd give you my computer specs, but i think it would be pretty rhetorical considering i'm very positive my rig can handle atari games. anyone else having this problem? |

I encountered the same problem the first time I ran the game.
After rebooting the computer, it worked fine. Last edited by JaredC: 03-12-2008 at 04:48 PM. |

Also, the Battlezone controls are terrible. It's impossible to move your tank effectively. Would it be so hard to use the joystick to move 360 degrees, the way you wanted the tank to move? (i.e. moving bottom left would make the tank go in reverse to the left). Not sure about the other games, only tried these two so far. |

Doesn't work for me either. I have to start the game I want to play, alt-tab out of the black screen, kill the game (not the "80 classics" process), then launch the game again. Then it works. Go figure.

I get the same thing in vista32. The front-end works fine, but launching an actual game gets me a black screen.

ok, now i KNOW there's a problem. it won't run on either of my machines. i have:
- vista ultimate 64-bit, dual 8800gt's, amd x2 6000+, 4 gigs ddr2 AND - xp sp2, ati x1600, amd x2 3800, 2 gigs ddr2 i've tried running it on both and i still get the same problem with the black screen. this isn't just an issue on our end if it's happening to everyone. |

... Vista 32-bit with GT8600. Black screen, have to kill the process. According to Vista, it is menu.exe that is not responding.
I have tried setting XP2 compatability mode on menu.exe but that doesn't help. The Atari support page is no use -- tells you to kill every process that has your login name on it using Task Manager (mucho bad idea on Vista), then blames your video card if that doesn't work. Now I get "This game is unavailable. Try again later" when I try to start it. Refund here I come... |

This game works on my Vista32 laptop and my XP desktop. It is only my Vista32 desktop that I get the black screen on. ATi 2600xt in this box.
