360 Controller + This Game
Hey all.
I'm trying to play with an Xbox360 controller and it detects it right off the bat, but it's not recognizing the 2nd (right) analog stick, even when I reset it to default. When I try to set it manually, it doesn't detect any input from it. Then for the tutorials in game when it asks me to do a bunch of stuff, I can't Has anyone got it working with a 360 controller? Thanks.

I heard this has been an issue since the game's release. Try the official indigo prophecy forums on atari's site.

I've had this problem too. A solution is to use something like SwingBlade to map the right stick to your mouse cursor. Kind of lame, and it's less than efficient during the quicktime events, but it works.

Can I please have the URL to the SwingBlade program? I searched google and the first 10 pages or so didn't have any mention of it.

SOLUTION
The solution is: Their is no good solution for the Xbox 360 Controller and this game.
You'll either have to download some utility that does God knows what to your OS, or do as I did...go out and buy an el-cheepo "PlayStation 2" ripoff controller. I found one at Best Buy just now, a Logitech Dual Action controller for 20 bucks that worked strait away. It comes with some driver mini-cd, but you can happily ignore it. It's plug and play with this game. |

I've got the same problem too atm. I tried hooking up my 360 replica controller (PowerWave) and I think the analogue sticks are busted because neither of them register. Used to have a PS2 controller + PS2 to USB converter but I gave the device away and no longer have a PS2, thus I'm back to square one
And of course its practically impossible to play it without the 2nd analogue ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥it!

The cost-free, easiest approach that I'd take if I get this game is to use Xpadder. You can bind any key/mouse function/special command to your controller. I use it for several games. I was so happy with it that I purchased a full copy of the product, even though there are freeware versions available.
P.S. This is a standalone application. No installation or drivers. |

Tried using Xpadder but for whatever reason I'm still having trouble with it. Care to upload the profile for it?

if you have a wired 360 controller install the xbcd drivers and everything will work.

why not the keyboard?
I've finished this game on Hard with a keyboard. There was problems, however, on non-custom buttons configuration during the L/R tests... somehow they didn't work right. I had to set back the default buttons. |

Xpadder doesn't work well. I finally got it working with the XBCD driver.
Once you get it installed, set the right stick to +/-Z and +/-RZ, then the game will be able to see it in the normal options. |

And the XBCD has one "flaw": you can only use it as long as the X360 Controller is the only connected gamepad. At least that's the experience I made. Worked! Thanks. Last edited by Elbart: 01-05-2010 at 02:17 PM. |

Damn that's a shame. I finished the game on my old xbox but I wanted to play it again and now trying to play with Keyboard and Mouse just sucks compared to the experience I had on the Xbox.
I can't even test xpadder since there seems to be no demo available what a bummer.
