Steam uses its own DRM, so I doubt very much that you'll have to deal with SecuRom. It's one of the reasons I decided to purchase the game through Steam.

I agree but some big AAA titles on steam do have the drm that their retail versions have like Bioshock for example.

Hi wuwtk!

We see you have a question regarding one of our games.

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers and downloading the latest DirectX?

Please also see our troubleshooting guide.

Thanks,
EA Support

Yes. Could someone please confirm this. I just returned my retail copy because of SecuROM. I am not dealing with rootkits.

No mention of SecuROM or limited installs in the EULA. Looks promising.

Yes it does according to steam support! I wrote them yesterday and their reply was:

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

The Crysis series uses Securom.

For more information, please contact EA Support:

I am not happy about that reply. I am going to most likely pass on Warhead.

What kind of securerom tho? The kind that only lets you authenticate a few times and then requires you to call up EA?

This would serioulsy jarate me off.
