I currently have CS and DOD server running steam. I just need to know how to get the Fa mod working under steam.

I get hlserver.hlserver as incorrect login to wget the bin file from valve.

I had the same problem. Try adding +map de_dust2 to your startupline.

I have tried to logon to the valuesoftware ftp site but it won't let me connect with user=hlserver and password=hlserver. What gives?

Ok, Lets get started.
Go to your homedir and lets make a new dir for the server, and then go into that dir.
Should you already have a installation you want to update, just use the hlds_l dir you using now"

Uhm... I shall make a new dir and also already have an installation?
And this installation, shall it be 1.5 server?

I'm a bit confused...


Anyway, I tried go on with the guide, making me a dir and download and extract hldsupdatetool.bin and making med a account with steam.

Then we come to the installation part.

./steam -update <game> <installdir> <username> [<password> [Y]]

(Yeah, I have changed it so it fit my needs.)

When I try it, I get this message:

Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
No installation record found at /home/sigma/dentarg/hlds_l
Updating 'Linux Server Engine' from version 0 to version 1
ContentServer rejected client's protocol version

Hey guys 2 days ago I had never used cs... But I used http://[color="#FF66FF"]♥[/color][color="#FF66FF"]♥[/color][color="#FF66FF"]♥[/color].servicez.org/steam/install.html & http://www.vadakill.com/nsguides/ to get my CS and NS servers online.

I'm still testing/configing AMX Mod for NS/CS on my school's network... I'll post the IPs once I get them online.

The system is a Dual 2.4gig Xeon 533fsb... so the server should be "total money"

I am getting the same error:

ContentServer rejected client's protocol version

so please if you know how to fix it. HELP ME!

I cant get the server files, it says connection refused. how do i get the server?
