Pink/Black Checkerboard
I'm getting tons of Pink checkerboards in my TF2 map. I've read into it and learned that it means invalid texture, however the textures show up fine in Hammer, it's when I test the map in Team Fortress 2 that they show up. Also, the checkerboards appear in place of a reflection on the Sniper's sunglasses and scope.
Thanks, Nick |

You need to 'buildcubemaps'.
That basically takes 360* pics from everywhere you put a cubemap entity. Then those pics are used for the reflections. There are tuts. |

I see. So I really need to wait on that until my level is complete for the most accurate cubemaps, correct?

not necessarily, espically if a large portion of your textures aren't showing up ingame. I prefer to add cubemaps into the map as the last thing, but if it disrupts you checking out the map while yoru working on it, just add one in the middle of the map and let your relfections look all screwy till you add more at the end.

That's good advice, thanks! It'd be less distracting to have messed up cubemaps than pink/black checkers. ;P
Thanks guys, Nick |
